Deborah, my amazing, beautiful wife, was the most loving and selfless person it was possible to meet. Her thoughts and concerns were always for others ahead of herself, even until the final days when she was suffering so badly. It was a privilege to have known her, let alone be her husband for over 32 years. Our boys, Sean and Darryl, were her pride and joy and she was never happier than when she was bringing them up and pouring her love and time into their formative years. Deborah was the perfect role model. As our children grew she grew with them and loved to keep in touch with what they were doing and how their friends were. She was warmly liked by everyone who met her, whatever their age. Deborah’s childhood in Africa became part of her DNA and helped me broaden my perspective on life. Her favourite holidays were when we went to Kenya on safari in 2008 and as a family to Victoria Falls in 2017 when she was able to share her childhood memories with us all. I was fortunate to have shared some special holidays with her as a couple in more recent years. Deborah loved exploring different cultures and found immense pleasure in trying out different ways of doing things and different foods. But most of all she enjoyed the simple things in life like being in the countryside, going for a walk, watching the sunrise, sitting together and holding hands. Since moving house in 2016 she adored being in the countryside listening to the birds, watching the wildlife and pottering about the garden keeping it looking beautiful. She really did feel like she was where she belonged. I am and always will be eternally grateful that I was lucky enough to have shared 35 years of my life with someone so special. Deborah will forever be in my heart. All my love, your ever adoring husband Simon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
